MASTT invite you to their Annual General Meeting which is going to be held at Slaithwaite Community Centre at 7.30pm on Tuesday 9th February.

Come along to our more focused meeting of the month aka Collective Focus.

The MASTT group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Slaithwaite Community Centre to discuss and decide issues for that month. At 8.15pm the floor is open for new members to discuss their interests and for them to see the subgroups they may like to join.

Everyone is welcome to attend and there is no pressure for you to get involved straight away if you don't want to.

Are you interested in helping to plant a community orchard?

Marsden and Slaithwaite Transition Towns (MASTT) will be planting the final 18 fruit trees at the Rotcher Community Orchard site this Saturday (13th February) and are looking for volunteers to help between 9.30 and 3pm.

Please wear warm clothes, waterproofs (depending upon the weather), stout footwear and bring something to drink. If you have a spade you can bring, that would be very helpful.

Directions: Meet at the Rotcher Picnic Site (at the end of Rotcher Lane in Slaithwaite) Car Park at 9.30, or if later at the Orchard site itself. To get to the orchard walk from the car park, through the picnic area and follow the path into the woodland area beyond. The orchard site is one of the meadows on the hillside on the right after the end of the picnic area. You can't miss the wood frames that will protect the orchard trees.

Come along to our relaxed and informal chat about all things transition! Come meet members of MASTT and share your ideas and interests with others. We welcome all new members and would love to hear any suggestions for events or projects.

The first, informal, Huddersfield Craft Mafia meeting will take place

at the Media Centre, Huddersfield,

on Friday February 26th, 5-7pm.

Please come along and, if you wish, bring a project.

Tea, coffee, beer, wine and cakes will be available to buy.

Colne Valley Tree Society are out planting trees around the valley every Saturday throughout the winter.  Apparently they have more trees than people to plant them.  So are there any volunteers out there.  More info at http://colnevalleytreesociety.blogspot.com/

Seedy Sunday - Seed Swap

Parochial Hall, Marsden, 11am - 1pm

MASTT’s annual swap of all things seedy. Bring along seeds or seedlings to swap with others and multiply what you’ll be growing in 2010.

If you haven't grown before and would like to find out how to start, why not come along and pick up some information and have a chat.

Local growers will be on hand to give advice and encouragement over a cup of tea – what a perfect start to your Sunday!
