&lt;p&gt;Scything Festival&lt;br /&gt;31 July - 1 August 2010&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Paddock Farm, Parkgate Road, West Slaithwaite, Huddersfield HD7 5XA&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The grass will be high and the living easy so why not come on down for a cutting&lt;br /&gt;edge weekend of hay making and high jinks! Have a go at this ancient art,&lt;br /&gt;learn how to make a haystack, marvel as the grim reaper plies his trade.&lt;br /&gt;Experienced scythers will be on hand to teach you .&lt;br /&gt;Come for a few hours, a day or the whole weekend.&lt;br /&gt;Camping at the farm, evening bonfire party and music.&lt;br /&gt;You don’t need a scythe, but if you have one, bring it along.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What to bring: Food/drink to share, stout shoes, tent,musical instrument, outdoor games.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cost: £10 to cover cost of tuition. Snacks/homemade refreshments available to buy on the day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

 <title>Earthheart Mind, Body and Soul Festival</title>

&lt;pre&gt;Earthheart Mind, Body and Soul festival on 8th&lt;br /&gt;August at Slaithwaite Community Centre - it has stalls for goods, therapy and&lt;br /&gt;performers including belly dancing, singing, POI swingers ( fire throwing) and maybe&lt;br /&gt;Morris dancing etc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt; It marks  LAMMAS - the pagan festival - the Feast of bread. &lt;p&gt;The Environment Agency are holding a flood awareness event in Marsden town centre (stall outside Mechanics Hall) on  Friday 20 Aug 10am-4pm, alongside their partners&lt;br /&gt;from WY police, WYFR, Emergency  Planning.  <title>Wild Food Walk (Holmfirth Transition Town)</title>

&lt;p&gt;TAKE a walk on the wild side. Holmfirth Transition Town group has organised&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;a wild food walk on Sunday, August 22. Member Kate Hughes said: &quot;Come along&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;and find out about our wild plants that can be eaten raw, cooked or even&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;used for medicines, dyes and other household applications.&quot; The Holmfirth&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Transition Town group was formerly known as the Holmfirth Climate Change&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Group. Those interested in taking part in the walk should meet at the former&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;Midlothian garage site on New Mill Road, near Berrybank Lane at &lt;strong&gt;1pm&lt;/strong&gt;. &lt;/p&gt;
