How can businesses reduce their impact on the environment?

We are all told on a regular basis that the little changes we make can go along way. The government, council and other groups tell us how we can save the planet by buying energy saving light bulbs and carrying out the 3Rs. Businesses can find these changes harder to do as they still need to make a profit at the end of the day.

Businesses are a vital part of every community and the community needs to support them in order for them to remain within the community. Another situation in which we all need to help each other.

If you are a business with Marsden and Slaithwaite and would like to know how you can make a difference, please get in contact with us and we can direct you down the right path.

We would be more than happy to promote your business on this website and on information stalls if you source any of your products locally.

Since MASTT forming in late 2007 we have already seen one sucessful transition business emerge - The Handmade Bakery.

It looks like another is about to form in Slaithwaite. It looks like there is going to be a Community Owned Greengrocers forming over the next few months.

Good luck to them both and we hope many more will develop in the near future.
