Details of the Waste & Recycling Group
Purpose of the Waste & Recycling Group
This group is currently not active but we would like to get it up and running asap. We have many ideas on what this group could do but due to a lack of members they have not been carried out. We are looking for members to become involved with this group - if you do not have prior knowledge of this subject don't worry because we will help you meet up with people that do.
What this group is trying to achieve:
*Raise awareness within the community of issues related to waste (eg volume of waste created, ways of dealing with waste, 3Rs, composting)
*Promote the reduction of waste
*Encourage people to think creatively about how they deal with their waste (eg Freecycle, recycling, swap and share schemes)
*Supporting existing businesses that are attempting to reduce their waste and increase their recycling
*Hold fun events and carry out projects that aid the community in this transition
This group is open for anyone to join.
To get involved with this group please come along to our Collective Focus meeting at 8.15pm on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Slaithwaite Community Centre. At this meeting you can meet with existing MASTT members and engage with people who may like to form a Waste & Recycling group with you.
You can also get involved in discussions by posting a message on our 'Discussion Forum' for Waste & Recycling.
If you would like to contact us with any questions please email Tiff on info@mastt.org.uk

They have about 7000 members at the moment
Huddersfield Freecycle® is open to all who want to "recycle" that
special something rather than throw it away. Whether it's a chair, a
fax machine, piano or an old door, feel free to post it. Or maybe
you're looking to acquire something yourself! Nonprofit groups are also
welcome to participate too!
One constraint: everything posted
must be free. This network is brought to you by Freecycle®, a nonprofit
organization and a movement of people interested in keeping good stuff
out of landfills. Check out freecycle.org
for other cities and info on the movement! E-mail
huddersfieldfreecycle-owner@yahoogroups.com for questions or
improvement ideas!
And have fun with Freecycle®!
Don't
forget to join the Cafe Group which is available to all members of
