Purpose of Arts, Crafts & Culture Group

This group is not currently active but ideas for projects and events for 2009 are as follows.

Clothes swap, guerilla gardening (with flowers), re-skilling (eg. sewing, knitting, woodwork, metalwork), craft workshops and music events.

There is currently 1 member in this group so please let us know if you would like to help expand the group and get involved with the above projects.

What this group is trying to achieve:

*Creatively tackle environmental issues and improve the appearance of built environment

*Raise awareness about the need for people to develop skills that can be transferrable in life

*Encourage people to pass on skills they have learnt so they can be passed down to the next generation

*Assist people in finding others who share the same interests

 *Hold fun events and carry out projects that aid the community in this transition  

This group is open for anyone to join.

To get involved with this group please come along to our Collective Focus meeting at 8.15pm on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Slaithwaite Community Centre. You can also get involved in discussions by posting a message on our 'Discussion Forum' in the Arts, Crafts and Culture section.
