Hello, my name is Tiff. I am 22 and am currently working for Kirklees Council as a temp. I studied Sustainable Development as my degree at University in Manchester. My family are the most important thing to me.

Since joining MASTT in July 2008 I have enjoyed taking part in a variety of events and have met lots of really nice people.

Last year I tried my hand at growing a small selection of food (peppers, baby carrots, potatoes and spinach – all in pots) but this year I am challenging myself by taking on a small piece of land. I’m not quite sure how it will turn out but I’m enjoying the experience and I have realised how much I love being outside.

Environmental interests – I’m interested in why people consume as they do and ways in which we can challenge the way people look at their quality of life.

I'm looking for people to help me form the Arts, Crafts and Culture subgroup. Also if you are interested in Waste and Recycling you should let me know. I've got plans to hold a 'charity shop chic' fashion show and cotton bag decorating workshops (and many more!).

Hi Tiff

I'd definitely be up for helping with the fashion show - could it have a 'clothes swap' element?  And the cotton bag project sounds very interesting too.  Are you thinking that people would design their own bags or would it be based on the MASTT logo?

Oh, introductions!  My name's Rowan, and I live in Crimble, Slawit.  I've been along to a number of the MASTT activities and am keen get more involved this summer, especially in helping to develop the community orchard.

I've just come back from the Veg Sunday event (check upcoming events for the next one) where I learnt allsorts; how to grow spuds in tyres, parsnips in bogrolls and how to keep slugs off my precious plants!!!

A big thank you to Selina, Steve and Duncan for all their effort.

Rowan

Hello Rowan, the fashion show it just an idea I had and suggested to Jenni from M.Y.A.C who is also enthusiastic about the idea. There are many things we could do, I love the idea of clothes swapping and perhaps we could organise a clothes swapping event before we organise the fashion show as it would attract people interested in clothing who might want to help organise a fashion show.

The bag workshops are pretty flexible at the moment, these will also be carried out with M.Y.A.C as they just getting established in the community. Our initial thought is that we could have the MASTT logo in the middle of the bag and people can decorate around it.

We are planning on meeting in the next couple of weeks to talk about these two projects. You are more than welcome to come along and get involved. It will be nice to get a few ideas for what we could do.

Also anyone else who might be interested can come along if they just send an email to info@mastt.org.uk.

Hi, my name is Adam. I am 24 and live in the Colne Valley.

Been an active member of MASTT for a year now, its great to find other people who also give a sh*t about the world we live in, and who see an alternative to the catastrophe our government and media are leading us towards.

Power to the people!

Hi everyone, I'm Natalie, I live in Marsden and like Adam have been involved with MASTT for coming up for a year. It's been great fun planning and organising events to try and raise MASTT's profile and principles in the community, with like-minded people who can be bothered to try and change things.   If you're thinking of getting involved, please come along to one of our events - everyone's welcome and it's certainly not all doom and gloom about the state of the planet!  We do have fun, honest!
