COMMUNITY FOOD MARKET
It has been agreed that we will organise a community food market to be held on Saturday 6th September (location tbc). The point of the market is to illustrate what capacity we already have within the community for food growing and production and to celebrate 'food feet' instead of miles.
It's also a chance to get to know people, swap tips and recipes and have some fun! If you'd like to get involved please use this forum as a starting point.
A series of considerations have been raised including:
- suppliers - a list of produce to make sure we don't get too much of something and not enough of another
- tables and gazebos
- publicity materials
- how to organise the system - money / swapping / donating produce etc.
- Please add to this list and let others know if you can, and would like to help.
Thanks,
Dan

I was only able to stop by briefly on the day, but there seemed to be really good buzz. Due to my own poor timing i was unable to bring along any of the onions or garlic that I've since harvested, and also on that same afternoon a neighbour told me they had intended to come along with a load of lettuces they had.
So it could have been even bigger and better if we all had got our various acts together! Which got me to thinking, is there a role for a sort of online fruit and veg swap-shop type of ting. We could probably put something together that did the job as part of this website.
Would people use it it? Let me know. If there is sufficient interest I'll build it.

Hi
re Earth Heart Festival - would anyone be interested in selling their wares i.e. any home grown produce??, this is in keeping with our aim - i.e. local providers and talent and sustainable, environmentally freindly living.
Also come and meet Matt who can tell you a way of getting bumper crops!!!

Hey Lynda,
Spring isn't really the right time to sell homegrown veg but perhaps Green Valley Grocer may like to have a stall selling homemade jams they have in the shop. I would imagine MASTT would be happy to share their stall with them and sell seeds, pots etc to encourage people to start growing their own produce.
Just let us know when the event is and we can make sure we get something sorted for it.
Thanks
Tiff
