Orchard Days

Today I was at the Orchard site working on the tree guards with JA and DW, we got on well with the work.
We've completed 7 tree guards now, and "timbered up" another 2 tree guards.
So another session there next weekend with a few more bodies (hint hint) would see us completing the whole 13 tree guards. That would be incredible.
Jointly we have worked through some appaling weather over December and January, well done everyone. It can only get better.
But further to what Emma posted in her blog, I was struck by the beauty of the site. The weather certainly wasn't good. It was cold and the rain held off and we were certainly happy with that. But the sky itself was just beautiful. The sun came out at one stage and my head got hot under its warm hat. It was just lovely to be there. A very dark sky over Huddersfield didn't bring us anything nasty to shower our heads.
I had taken off my waterproof jacket a number of times, as it wasn't raining, as I already related, and it was good to feel the heat of the sun for once.
For most of the last month we've had nothing but snow and now with a bit of rain and a rising temprature I feel like spring is just around the corner again.
