Our Membership

Our membership is made up of 100% volunteers. New volunteers are always very welcome, even if you only have a small amount of time to give. Come along, make new friends, learn new things and take part in activites aimed at creating a cleaner, greener community.

We are also always looking for new people to come up with ideas for projects, or get involved in existing ones! Anyone can develop a MASTT project, if it fits with the principles of Transition then you can do it! Just put your idea forward to the steering group, get a thumbs up and go make it happen. W can help you apply for funding and get other members of the community involved.

Our steering group is made up of around 10-15 people who meet at The Commercial in Slaithwaite on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. The members of the steering group make decisions as to what projects the group will get involved in and carrying out administrative tasks such as dealing with the accounts. For this reason the members of the steering group are people who have been involved in previous MASTT activities. We're not trying to be exclusive with this group (if you want to join you are welcome to - just send us an email) but it makes sense for our regular members to make decisions on projects as they have had experience of the types of projects that the group supports and how to take them forward.

We also have a more relaxed meeting on the Last Monday of every month, at the moment it is being held at Marsden Mechanics but please check the website on a regular basis as this may change from time to time. Everyone is welcome to come along to this 'Collective Genius' meeting, it is called Collective Genius because it brings people together from within the community with different skills and knowledge. Please check the Calendar of Upcoming Events for our next meeting.

MASTT also has a wider membership of people who come along to our events and are on our mailing list, these members can be involved as little or as much as they like. If you would like to become a member of MASTT, please sign up to our mailing list and you will be kept informed of opportunities to get involved.

You are also encouraged to contribute to our discussion forum if you would like to discuss an issue of interest to you, or take part in an active discussion.
